I've been lucky enough to spend time in Idaho every summer, and I think I appreciate it a little more each year, especially since moving to New York. There's an ease to life there that always reminds me how good the simplest things can feel: slow mornings, long days outside, being near the water, cooking something you love for dinner, and having nowhere to rush off to. I think it's shaped the way I imagine my ideal everyday life, too. Nothing overly complicated, just a routine that feels simple, enjoyable and beautiful, with enough space to actually appreciate it. Living in a city can make everything feel like it needs to happen faster, and leaving the city is a welcomed reminder that ease can be its own kind of luxury.
